Edmonton, Alberta – Dr. Kamal Al-Hallak, president of the Alberta Cosmetic Pharmacist Association, has filed for a judicial review against the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP). The challenge targets new standards, effective February 1, 2025, that prohibit pharmacists from offering aesthetic injections and other personal cosmetic services under their professional designation.

Dr. Al-Hallak argues the amendments exceed the ACP’s authority, violate constitutional rights, and were introduced without proper consultation. The case will be heard on January 10, 2025, in Edmonton.
