Course Title: Aesthetic Applications of PRP Therapy for Pharmacists

Target Audience: Licensed Pharmacists

Duration: a 2-day intensive course

Objective: Equip pharmacists with the necessary theoretical and practical skills for the safe and effective aesthetic use of PRP Therapy.

Introduction to Aesthetic PRP Therapy (2 hours)

    • Background and History of PRP Therapy in Aesthetics
    • Understanding the aesthetic benefits of PRP
    • Regulatory aspects of PRP use in aesthetics

PRP in Aesthetics: Fundamentals and Mechanism of Action (2 hours)

    • Understanding platelets and growth factors in relation to skin rejuvenation
    • Mechanism of action and its impact on skin and hair aesthetics
    • Aesthetic applications: facial rejuvenation, hair growth, etc.

Skin and Hair Anatomy (3 hours)

    • Detailed understanding of skin and hair structure
    • Importance of recognizing vascular structures during injections

Patient Consultation and Aesthetic Evaluation (2 hours)

    • Identifying suitable candidates for aesthetic PRP treatments
    • Assessing patients’ aesthetic concerns and managing expectations
    • Informed consent and documentation

Preparation of PRP for Aesthetic Applications (3 hours)

    • Blood collection techniques
    • Centrifugation process and PRP extraction
    • Guidelines for PRP preparation, storage, and application

Injection Techniques for Aesthetic PRP Applications (3 hours)

    • Overview of injection techniques for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration
    • Selecting the appropriate needle size and type
    • Determining the appropriate PRP volume

Hands-on Practice (4 hours)

    • Practice blood collection, centrifugation, and PRP extraction
    • PRP application and injection techniques for skin and hair
    • Practice on medical mannequins

Management of Side Effects and Complications (2 hours)

    • Common side effects and how to manage them
    • Identifying and managing complications and adverse reactions

Post-treatment Care and Follow-up (2 hours)

    • Understanding legal requirements and potential liabilities

  • Written Exam: Multiple-choice questions based on the course content (1 hour)
  • Practical Exam: Supervised aesthetic PRP preparation and injection procedure on a medical mannequin (30 minutes)

Prerequisites: Participants need to be licensed pharmacists and must present proof of valid licensure. Prior to the course, it is recommended that they review basic anatomy and physiology related to skin and hair.
